EyeBud 800 turns your Video iPod into a 105-inch display
eMagin Corp. a company that makes video display products for military and industrial uses is launching a new device to bring a big screen on the go experience for the Video enabled iPod.
This company has developed a wearable headset system that plugs into the new iPod and displays video from it in front of one eye, using optical technology.
With the proximity of the screen to the eye, and the magnifying effect of this optical technology, the new EyeBud 800 headset allows video iPod users to watch their movies with an increased resolution compared to the existing Video iPod quality. It’s like watching a video on a 105-inch display from 12 feet away.
“Suddenly you’ve got this big-screen, movie-screen, home-theater experience, wherever you are,” said Gary Jones, eMagin’s president and CEO.
The EyeBud 800 is scheduled to debut in the first half of 2006 and is expected to retail for as much as $599.
