Fear of a Podporn Planet
Fears have been raised concerning Porncasts and iPod Porn like if it was an alien invasion aiming to destroy our world. People seem to forget the beauty of this content delivery method. It’s an on demand system and people choose with their own will to subscribe. It has nothing to do with the invasion of disgusting and unsolicited email spams.
And in my opinion a podcast receiver like iTunes is even safer than a browser. It has a parental control where you can disable podcasts and restrict explicit content. I’m also unsure a top of the line video-enabled iPod is a kid’s toy … but maybe i’m too old fashioned.
There is a growing demand for erotic podcasts and adult mobile content . Some adult companies losing money with magazines are now moving into mobile content. They understand the impact and benefits of podcasting to deliver their content. Parent groups giving their kids some adult toys should save some energy by taking action in their own house by checking their kids’ iPods and their phone bills for unusual downloads. The popular CYBERsitter Internet filter has already begun research on the mechanics of filtering the coming onslaught of adult oriented video content for the iPod.
Mobile porn doesn’t necessarily means porn in public or free porn in everyone hands leading to the decline of our civilization, it’s just new ways of getting adult materials but the content is the same and it’s like it has always been, it’s a matter of personal responsability and discretion.
People love sex and technology. Adult material is available through numerous sources, anyway. So, save our forests, enjoy the benefits of porncasting and digital medias and keep an eye on your kids, it’s not a government’s job to control your kids life, except under dictatorial regimes.
